The U.S. green card of Suleimani's niece from Iran has been revoked, with the reason being "supporting Iran's opposition to the United States during her time in the U.S."
On April 4, the U.S. Department of State announced that it had arrested Suleimani's niece, Afshar, who is a senior commander in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with her daughter; both face deportation.
The statement accused Afshar of spreading propaganda from the Iranian regime while in the U.S., celebrating attacks on U.S. military forces and facilities, praising Iran's Supreme Leader, and publicly supporting the IRGC, which the U.S. designates as a terrorist organization.
Secretary of State Rubio added on social media that the U.S. green cards of the two women have been revoked, emphasizing, "This administration will not allow foreigners supporting anti-American terror regimes to treat the United States as their home."
