Mongolia News Agency: Mongolia and China reach agreement on coal sales

Mongolia News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, November 11th, the Mongolian "Energy Resources" company and the "China Energy" group have reached an agreement on the quantity of coal sales and market pricing principles for 2026. A delegation led by the Chief Executive Officer of the "Energy Resources" company, D. Enkhbat, and the Vice President, T. Tubsinbayar, participated in the International Import Expo held in Shanghai, China.

Meanwhile, both sides confirmed that under the framework of a 10-year strategic partnership agreement signed with the China National Energy Group, in the coming year, they will supply up to 4.9 million tons of coking coal and 1 million tons of weak coking coal to the China National Energy Group according to market pricing, and jointly attended the signing ceremony of the China National Energy Group's procurement.

The Mongolian Energy Resources Company reported that with the successful completion of the Gashuinsukhait-Gangqimadu border railway project conducted this year in collaboration with the China National Energy Group, it will create favorable conditions for further expanding bilateral cooperation.

After the two companies signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement in 2018, in 2021, with joint investment from both parties, a bonded warehouse area with an annual throughput and transfer capacity of 7 million tons of coal was built at the Gangqimadu port.
