Media: Command personnel of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division have received orders to deploy to the Middle East

Russian Sputnik News Agency, Moscow — According to Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin, command personnel of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division have already received deployment orders to the Middle East.

Jennifer Griffin posted on the social media platform X: "Major General Brandon Tegtmeyer, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division, along with his 'command leadership' and staff members, have received orders to deploy to the Middle East."

In the meantime, The Wall Street Journal cited anonymous U.S. officials reporting that the Pentagon also plans to draw a brigade combat team from the 82nd Airborne Division for deployment to the Middle East, to support operations targeting Iran. It is reported that orders to deploy this force of approximately 3,000 personnel are expected to be issued within the next few hours.
