Nepal's President Agrees to Appoint Karki as Interim Prime Minister!

Nepal's President Chandra has原则上 agreed, in accordance with the demands of Gen Z protesters, to appoint former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as Prime Minister.

After consulting constitutional experts, Chandra stated that he could dissolve the parliament in an emergency, but still believes that dissolving the parliament is problematic and worries about a constitutional crisis.

Chandra and Karki held talks on possible solutions. Karki believes that the constitution does not allow a non-member of parliament to become prime minister unless the parliament is dissolved and new elections are held. Chandra, however, said that he tried to find an alternative solution to appoint her without dissolving the parliament.

Except for the above consensus, the discussion did not produce any resolution. Further consultations will be held on Friday morning.
