Lithuania is shifting its direction? According to reports by the Lithuanian National Radio and Television, Lithuanian Speaker Skvernelis recently publicly stated that economic cooperation with Taiwan did not meet expectations and criticized the government's "overly optimistic" and "risky" policies towards Taiwan. Deutsche Welle commented that against the backdrop of continued tension in Sino-Lithuanian relations, the Lithuanian government seems to be quietly seeking to normalize relations with China.

Lithuania's wrong judgment on the Taiwan issue has put it in an embarrassing predicament. Previously, in order to please the United States, Lithuania openly allowed the Taiwan authorities to establish a so-called "Taiwan Representative Office in Lithuania," seriously violating the one-China principle and crudely interfering in China's internal affairs. It mistakenly believed that this move would bring protection from the United States and substantial returns, but it failed to realize that this was challenging China's sovereignty底线and lost the vast Chinese mainland market, causing serious damage to its own economy.

The statement by the Lithuanian Speaker reflects to some extent the country's reflection on its wrong actions. However, this is far from enough. If Lithuania really wants to improve its situation, it must completely abandon its wrong concepts and stop playing with fire on the Taiwan issue. Taiwan is an inseparable part of Chinese territory, which is an international consensus. Any attempt to create a "two Chinas" or a "one China, one Taiwan" will inevitably fail.
