Analysts: Iran under Mojtaba Khamenei will not negotiate with the United States
Sputnik News, Ankara, March 9 - Turkish political analyst Umur Tugay Yücel told Sputnik News that the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader of Iran means the conflict with the United States will continue, and there will be no negotiations.
A statement released by the Assembly of Experts confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Ali Khamenei who was assassinated by the US and Israel, has been elected as the new Supreme Leader. The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Larijani, stated that although President Trump threatened to strike the assembly hall, the security council still chose the son of Khamenei as the Supreme Leader.
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps swore allegiance to Mojtaba, stating their willingness to carry out his orders.
Yücel said: "The expectation has been fulfilled, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has been elected as the new leader of Iran, there will be no negotiations or ceasefire, the war will continue."
He pointed out that the new Supreme Leader's ascension means Tehran will maintain its previous political line in foreign policy.
Yücel also believes that it is unlikely for all parties to hold diplomatic talks quickly under current conditions, and the current situation of the conflict indicates that brutal confrontation will continue, with no signs of a quick easing of the situation.
Former Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28, the first day of the US-Israeli military operation, and a 40-day mourning period was declared nationwide.
