NASA Acting Administrator Candidate: The United States Cannot Lose in the Moon Race!
Otherwise, the U.S. will follow China's footsteps, which is a threat to America!
On April 10, TASS published an article.
Jared Isman, the acting NASA administrator candidate, pointed out that the U.S. "will inevitably win the opportunity to return to the moon."
Isman said, "We will absolutely not lose. If we do not find ourselves among the leaders, we will have to follow China's path, and we may always follow them, and this will be a huge threat."
At the same time, he emphasized, "Since 1989, U.S. presidents have called for returning to the moon and traveling to Mars." According to his statement, "more than $100 billion has been spent, but the expected results have not been achieved."
Isman pointed out that if he is approved for the position of head of the space department, "[NASA]'s priorities will be landing astronauts on Mars." At the same time, during this process, the U.S. "will inevitably gain the opportunity to return to the moon and determine the advantage of maintaining [people] on the lunar surface in terms of science, economics, and national security."
It was reported that China plans to land a manned spacecraft on the moon by 2030.
However, China has never stated that it is competing with the U.S., but rather steadily advancing its own lunar exploration plan.
