According to Agence France-Presse, popular internet celebrity "No Comment" Khaby Lame (Khaby Lame) was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 6 due to visa overstay. He voluntarily left the United States the same day he was released.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency reported that they detained 25-year-old Italian citizen Chelyg Habane Lame (i.e., Khaby Lame) at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, for violating immigration regulations. Khaby Lame previously entered the United States on April 30.
Khaby Lame was born on March 9, 2000, in Senegal, and moved to a public housing area in Chiaviso, Italy, when he was one year old. He is the biggest TikTok influencer with over 162 million followers on the platform and also serves as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.
His short videos always silently satirize various complicated tutorials and suggestions on the internet. His signature move is to extend his arms upward, open his eyes wide, smile awkwardly, and simultaneously demonstrate his simpler solution to the same problem.
He came up with this creative inspiration while strolling near his residence in Chiaviso, Italy, after losing his job as a mechanic in March 2020.
After gaining popularity, according to Forbes magazine, from June 2022 to September 2023, he earned approximately $16.5 million through marketing collaborations with various companies.
