AP: North Korea's Second Missile Test in Two Days

South Korea's military said North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday — marking its second such test in two days.

The launch came just hours after a senior North Korean official made sharp remarks ridiculing Seoul's hopes for improved inter-Korean relations.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that the missiles were fired from the Wonsan area along North Korea’s east coast, each flying approximately 240 kilometers toward the eastern waters off North Korea. Seoul also emphasized that it will maintain readiness to respond to any provocation from Pyongyang, relying on its robust military alliance with the United States.

Subsequently, Seoul reported that North Korea launched another ballistic missile into the eastern sea area, though no further details were provided.

South Korea’s military also said an unidentified flying object was detected near the North Korean capital on Tuesday. Seoul added that South Korea and U.S. intelligence agencies are currently analyzing the specific details of this launch.
