In fact, returning home after studying abroad has now become a trend. Some hawkish politicians in the U.S. clearly exhibit increasingly unbalanced mindsets toward China. Bannon’s remarks are essentially the outburst of a declining power’s anxiety—denying America’s open tradition that once made it strong, while simultaneously underestimating China’s capacity for independent innovation, always trying to sabotage our development by throwing obstacles.
