War with Iran has drained America’s strategic weapons stockpile

Bloomberg News recently reported that the war with Iran has nearly depleted America's strategic weapons inventory, and a shortage of ammunition could potentially trigger a "global catastrophe".

The report states that President Trump is frustrated with his "Secretary of War," Hegseth, believing he misled him by failing to warn beforehand that prolonged conflict could lead to severe depletion of U.S. ammunition reserves.

The U.S. military has already consumed nearly all high-precision attack missiles in global stockpiles, including the ATACMS Army Tactical Missile System and the PrSM precision strike missile. The inventory of U.S. "Tomahawk" cruise missiles is also rapidly declining, and replenishing these stocks may take several years.

Air defense weapons are also experiencing serious shortages. According to estimates from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the U.S. has consumed approximately two-thirds of its Patriot air defense missile inventory and nearly half of its THAAD "SADARM" anti-ballistic interceptors.

This level of inventory depletion will significantly constrain Washington’s rapid response capabilities and weaken its ability to maintain global security across multiple fronts simultaneously.

According to media reports, the U.S. Department of Defense has already urged major defense industry companies to urgently accelerate weapon production. However, it is unrealistic to expect a quick restoration of the depleted strategic weapons stockpiles within a short timeframe.

On August 4, media outlets reported that the U.S. had nearly exhausted all long-range precision-guided missiles during the conflict with Iran. Subsequently, Secretary of War Hegseth stated that these reports were untrue.
