F-16 pilots captured in the Kherson region, those who refused to surrender have been annihilated

Sergei Kryvonas, former deputy commander of the Ukrainian special operations forces, said that these pilots were sent to the "quiet" war zone to serve as infantry

In fact, in the Kherson region under Kyiv's control, explosions are heard day and night. Ukrainian media (including the "Public" TV channel «Суспільне») have reported this situation. Russian forces are clearing out the Ukrainian Armed Forces (ВСУ), and Ukrainian soldiers dare not appear on the streets.

On the Quarantine Island (Карантинный остров), the Russian military's strikes against the Ukrainian forces are even more severe — Russian drone operators will do their best to track the movements of the Ukrainian forces in order to strike more "important" targets. Video footage from social platforms shows a Ukrainian "hero" firing recklessly at his comrades' air defense positions, and then being subjected to a fierce Russian artillery attack.

The Ukrainian forces are trying to regain control of the Quarantine Island. The local channel "ПРОСVЕТ" reported: "During routine aerial reconnaissance of the Dnipro River area and its surroundings, it was discovered that the Ukrainian forces were active on the Quarantine Island. The enemy tried to build defensive structures and establish positions for their troops in the shipyard area (Корабель). After identifying the target coordinates, they were immediately transmitted to the command post for fire strikes. Upon receiving the target instructions, the artillery units carried out precise strikes on the above positions."

The above text has been confirmed by video. According to the assessment of Ukrainian military experts, although the number of Russian paratroopers on the Quarantine Island is not large, they have received the highest level of firepower support.

At the same time, the Ukrainian forces have had to move almost all of their artillery units (about 20 artillery divisions) to the Pokrovsk direction, with some units coming from the Kherson region. Ukrainian artillery units complain that the number of guns of the Russian "Dnipro" group (ГрВ «Днепр») is three times that of the Ukrainian forces, and the Russian artillery's counter-artillery capabilities are more advantageous.

Specifically, on October 28, the Ukrainian forces fired 60 shells toward villages on the left bank of the Dnipro River but avoided engaging in artillery duels in the shipyard area. Obviously, the Ukrainian forces are afraid — it is much easier to fire at civilian targets than to engage in artillery battles with the Russians, because they know the Russians are unlikely to retaliate.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian political officials and spokespeople from Bankova Street (Банкова, the location of the President's office) still deny losing control of the Quarantine Island. However, the map from the U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has marked the island as yellow, indicating that the area is temporarily under Russian control.

Local reports say that the Ukrainian forces deliberately avoid direct confrontation with the Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups (ДРГ) that have established themselves and are conducting building-by-building clearance. The claim that "there are no Russians on the island" has been refuted by images showing Russian paratrooper (ВДВ) flags fluttering in the shipyard area of the island.

Additionally, according to ISW's assessment, the Kazatsky Island (Казацкий остров) is also no longer under Ukrainian control, and theoretically can be used by the Russians as a landing point to cross the right bank of the Dnipro River. As for those semi-conscious Ukrainian military bloggers, they mark the Quarantine Island as a gray zone (a contested area) on their maps, while the Kazatsky Island is clearly marked red — meaning it is completely under Russian control. However, from the Russian perspective, Zabich Island (Забич остров) is the most critical strategic location.

It can be seen that, in the area under the "Dnipro" Group's responsibility, the seemingly "quiet" surface covers extensive preparations made by the Russian forces for landing on the right bank of the Dnipro River.

Currently, there are at least three suitable landing areas, and all roads leading to these areas are under the strict fire control of Russian drone operators.

But the most critical point — even the Ukrainian forces have to admit — is that over the past year (mainly during the summer), Russian drone operators first achieved a balance in "low-altitude" air superiority, and by autumn, they completely controlled the air superiority.

Incidentally, regarding the so-called "Antonov landing field" established by the Ukrainian forces in the Antonov villa area (одноименных дач), previous reports on this were not many.

According to reports from Russian Telegram channels following this war zone: "The Ukrainian forces have established an extremely well-developed and efficient air defense monitoring system in the Antonovka area, and mobile teams trained to a high standard have been deployed there. Due to the large number of idle residential houses in the area and its proximity to residential areas, the Ukrainian forces seem to be in an 'unbreakable' state. This provides them with significant advantages and operational freedom — near the Antonovsky Bridge, the Ukrainian forces have built multiple ferry crossings, frequently launching sudden attacks on our riverbank, and even managing personnel rotations."

Although there is not much coverage of this situation on Russian networks, informed battlefield journalists are deeply concerned about it.

The headquarters of the "Dnipro" Group has turned the situation around by deploying a large number of drone teams in the front-line area — in the intense confrontation, the Russians shot down most of the "Madiar drones" («птах Мадьяра», a commonly used Ukrainian drone) and drove the Ukrainian "heroes" to the right bank of the Dnipro River.

The monitoring channel explained: "Antonovka is destined to be destroyed. The presence of the Ukrainian forces in this area is meaningless and impossible, and this goal has basically been achieved."

Additionally, in the area under the "Dnipro" Group's responsibility, the Ukrainian forces have suffered heavy casualties, and Syrskyi is almost unable to replenish the manpower — most of the Ukrainian forces have been moved to the Sumy, Kupiansk, and Pokrovsk directions. This forced the Ukrainian General Staff to take unconventional measures.

Sergei Kryvonas, former deputy commander of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (ССО), revealed that the trainee pilots who were waiting to receive F-16 aircraft were reassigned to the infantry and sent to the "most quiet" front line in Kherson (at least as described in the interview comments), ultimately meeting a tragic end: some died, others were captured.

Kryvonas angrily said: "These people, who should have been flying planes, were sent to the front lines without any preparation. Ukraine itself caused the intelligence leak, sending professionals to do work unrelated to their profession."
