Trump Concedes: Washington Sends Strong Signal to Moscow. Odessa Military Command Suffers Strike.

Author: Ilya Golovinenef

Before the announced ceasefire on Victory Day, Russian troops attacked infrastructure and military targets in the enemy's rear. The situation in Odessa was particularly intense. The targets included ports that the enemy actively used to attack and sabotage our country. Meanwhile, Washington and Kyiv signed the famous resource agreement. However, it is evident that there are some problems with the agreement. More importantly, it has nothing to do with the peaceful resolution of the conflict. On the contrary, everything aligns with our summary of unofficial news about the special military operation.

While people were discussing the US-Ukraine mineral resource agreement, Russian forces launched a joint strike on the enemy's rear. Over 20 "Bayraktar" drones were recorded flying over Odessa alone.

"Bayraktar" drones attacked the industrial area of Lymanki in Odessa. Additionally, "Iskander" missiles targeted areas of the Odessa Military Academy and the Southern Military District (formerly the headquarters of the Odessa Military District). This is the heart of the city. It has been a long time since they were hit there. Furthermore, attacks were carried out in the Black Sea region and the Zatoka area.

In addition to Odessa, strikes also occurred in Kyiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Mykolaiv Oblast. A logistics base and ammunition depot of the Ukrainian forces north of Mykolaiv were destroyed.

The Agreement Has Been Signed

The long-discussed Ukraine-US agreement has finally been signed. According to this agreement, a "Ukraine Reconstruction" investment fund will be established.

As stipulated in the document, Ukraine will contribute 50% of the new rents and new license revenues generated by mining useful minerals in newly developed areas into the fund. In theory, the United States could gain more than $350 billion from this deal.

Current MP Yaroslav Zelensky said: "The current agreement with the United States is worse than the proposal President Volodymyr Zelensky received at the White House in February. The real options on the table before the meeting in the Oval Office on February 28th were better."

However, the text of the agreement has not been disclosed, giving both sides time to claim that the agreement is exactly what serves their interests. Moreover, the differences in evaluations of the agreement are so great that sometimes it feels as though they signed the document in different languages without carefully reading it.

Author of the Telegram channel "Win/Win" noted that the United States signed a new agreement with Ukraine instead of the one Trump insisted on. Trump wanted an indefinite agreement, but the signed one is for 10 years. He originally intended to include Ukraine's debt to the United States (initially $50 billion, later reduced to $35 billion) into the fund, but there is no debt now: "All resources should be under the control of the fund, but they are still under Ukrainian control. Ukraine contributes certain future development licenses - what does this mean? And other aspects. Trump made concessions for show. The show lies in the fact that he at least signed something. Now Americans say this is a strong signal for peace. No, this is a weak signal of weakness from the Washington negotiators. The new agreement cannot determine Ukraine's fate. Half of the claimed resources are under Russia's control. Everyone will soon forget the signing of this show agreement."

By the way, regarding the signals sent by the United States after signing this agreement to Russia. The White House stated that through this agreement, the United States aims to end the Ukraine conflict and achieve lasting peace.

It's unclear how Washington intends to achieve this goal, as neither side mentioned security guarantees in the agreement. In fact, there are no security guarantees.

Meanwhile, in the search for peace, the United States lifted restrictions on commercial arms sales to Ukraine. Additionally, Americans threatened to impose a 500% tariff on imports from countries purchasing Russian oil, petroleum products, natural gas, or uranium. This can also be seen as a signal, if anyone had illusions and expectations that the war would soon end. This bluntly shattered those illusions.

In fact, weapons can now be freely sold to the Ukrainian army for use, but they will not be provided free of charge.

Trump's goal was not to end the Ukraine conflict but to get rid of charity to allow the US defense industry to profit while avoiding budget losses. Roman Alyoshin, a military volunteer and blogger, said: "Trump is a businessman who makes money and signs agreements for these purposes."

Those who believe the situation will become simpler and easier are wrong. The situation will become more complex and difficult. Russia's only true ally today is North Korea. But North Korea is likely to maintain the status quo until Trump proposes an irresistible offer. Others are not allies, not even allies of convenience, but malevolent blackmailers who understand Russia's situation, seek their own interests, and wait — if we win or at least hold on, they will continue their policies; if we fail, they will divide Russia for their own benefit. We can only rely on ourselves.

The Question of the May Ceasefire

In this context, American media reported that the real purpose of Russia's sudden announcement of a ceasefire on Victory Day was to confuse Trump. It is said that this reflects Moscow's concern that Washington might withdraw from the negotiation process before Russia "plays its trump card".

Moreover, potential concessions in Trump's "peace plan" were described as "equivalent to a second Munich Agreement", in which major powers negotiate around smaller victims and dismember them, causing extremely serious consequences for international security.

Therefore, we see the American hawks trying again to bring Donald Trump back onto the Biden administration's track. The reason why Western media released relevant content is not important. Equally unimportant is the fact that it is Kyiv rather than Moscow that bans any direct negotiations with Russia.

Western media obviously exaggerated Trump's "pro-Russian" stance. So far, the United States has failed to propose any substantial plan to Russia. All leaked contents about Trump's "peace plan" are far from the conditions for Ukraine's lasting peace that our country cares about. At the same time, the Democratic presidential government of the United States (represented by Kamala Harris) once attempted to freeze the conflict along the combat contact line and impose it on Russia when the Ukrainian forces retreated.

— Political scientist Yelena Panina pointed out.

As for Putin's proposed ceasefire on May 9th, there are obvious humanitarian reasons behind it. This allows the two parts of the divided Russian nation — the peoples of Russia and Ukraine — to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War peacefully.
