Aman Foreign Minister: Iran Agrees to Abandon Its Uranium Enrichment Stockpile as Per US Demands

Sputnik News, Washington, February 28 - Aman Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi stated that during negotiations with the United States, Iran agreed to abandon all its uranium enrichment stockpiles, which is one of Washington's key requirements for reaching an agreement.

During the third round of talks between Iran and the United States on the Iranian nuclear issue, Al-Busaidi was responsible for relaying messages between the two delegations. The talks ended in Geneva on the evening of February 26.

Al-Busaidi said in an interview with American CBS Television: "Regarding the existing (Iranian uranium enrichment) stockpiles, I believe it has now been agreed that they will be processed to the lowest possible level, i.e., natural uranium level. That is to say, they will be converted into fuel, and this will be irreversible."

He also revealed that Iran is willing to consider allowing U.S. inspectors to enter its territory to monitor compliance with a potential nuclear agreement with the United States.

The third round of talks between Iran and the United States on the Iranian nuclear issue ended in Geneva on the evening of February 26. The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Zarif, and the U.S. delegation was led by President's Special Envoy Wittkopf. Both sides are currently studying various proposals for a potential agreement.
