Sang Linhe, chairman of Sany Group's heavy truck division, expects that by 2030, about half of the group's sales will come from overseas markets, a significant increase from the current 10% level. Sany Group is a major player in construction and mining machinery.

Sany Group launched its electric truck business in 2021. It is expected that by 2025, the group's annual sales of electric trucks will reach about 30,000 units, mainly in the Chinese market. This year, Sany has established an electric truck factory in South Africa, is currently selecting a site for its second overseas production base in Brazil, and has already begun selling its products in Europe.

In contrast, the process of electrification in regions outside of China is progressing slowly. According to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, due to insufficient charging infrastructure and grid investment, the market share of electric trucks in Europe reached only 3.6% in the first half of this year.

Sany Group is one of China's largest construction machinery manufacturers, headquartered in Changsha, a city in central China. The company operates in 140 countries and is strong enough to compete with U.S. Caterpillar Company and Japanese Komatsu Co., Ltd.

Sang Linhe pointed out that Sany invests about 8% of its revenue annually in the research and development of battery production in Changsha, nationwide photovoltaic charging and swapping networks, and autonomous driving technology.
