The Finnish Finance Minister questions the success of Finland joining the Eurozone
Sputnik News, Moscow - Finnish Minister of Finance Liisa Pras questions the success of Finland as a member of the Eurozone and calls for discussions with economists on this topic.
Pras said in an interview with the Finnish financial media "Kauppalehti": "I also call on all economists to discuss this topic together. Probably, there are not so many economists in the country who believe that joining the Eurozone is ultimately a good decision for Finland."
She also pointed out that the unified monetary policy of the Eurozone is one of the reasons for the current "poor development of events."
Pras said: "It is possible that we also need to talk about the issue of the euro."
However, Pras avoided the question of whether Finland needs to leave the Eurozone, stating that the discussion should focus on monetary policy.
According to "Kauppalehti," the "Finns Party" led by Pras had previously raised the issue of Finland leaving the Eurozone while in opposition.
