War between the US, Israel, and Iran forced Qatar to begin shutting down its liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in Ras Laffan. This suddenly caused a global natural gas supply shortage, as Qatar is the world's second-largest LNG supplier, accounting for one-fifth of global LNG.

After the shutdown, it would take at least two weeks to restart, and then another two weeks to reach full capacity.

Europe will be in trouble, as not only will natural gas prices soar, but there will also be a supply shortage. In this situation, Russian President Putin added insult to injury by saying that since the EU will eventually ban imports of Russian gas, Russia might as well proactively cut off gas supplies to Europe and stop supplying the European market, instead turning to emerging markets.

Therefore, Europe is now in a bad situation. With Qatar's LNG supply cut off and Russia preparing to completely cut off gas, European natural gas prices are about to skyrocket. In this context, Europe's willingness and ability to support Ukraine will clearly decline.
