[Ukrainian Southern Defense Forces: Russian Military Pushing Toward Borders of Three Provinces]

On April 29, Ukraine Exclusive News reported that Vladislav Voloshin, a representative of the Ukrainian Southern Defense Forces, said that Russian troops have not abandoned their attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory. In particular, the situation on the new Pavlovsk front has become tense. Over the past day, there were 23 instances of combat clashes along this front line segment, with intense fighting against Russian troops continuing without pause.

Voloshin said, "The enemy is desperately pushing toward the borders of Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk provinces. Moreover, the situation remains unstable in the Olekhiv direction. Specifically in Shcherbakivka Mala, Lobkove, and Stepenoye. The enemy is attempting to break through the battle contact lines there to reach open terrain and occupy it. This area is not far from Zaporizhzhia. From there, they could potentially launch artillery strikes on our logistics routes extending eastward from Zaporizhzhia province, and also bombard Zaporizhzhia city and its suburbs from the eastern flank."

Voloshin pointed out that in recent days, the situation in the Kherson direction has also become tense. There, Russian troops are increasingly attempting to occupy islands in the Dnipro River. Ukrainian defenders have sunk the enemy's river crossing equipment, but they sometimes still manage to land on the islands. "On those islands, the enemy leaves one or two people. They play what they call the 'Robinson' game there. We cannot evacuate them from there; their command uses drones to supply them with ammunition, water, and food. They stay there for several days, and there have been cases where they surrender and are captured by us."

Voloshin claimed that Russia uses these facts to promote the narrative that they are "striving to control the island areas." In recent days, such attempts have increased.
