Russian media: The United States plans to mine in the Pacific Ocean floor to counter China's influence!
Without China's rare earth metals, it is difficult for the United States to produce F-47.

U.S. President Donald Trump intends to mine in the Pacific Ocean floor, aiming to reduce dependence on China in the rare metal supply chain.
According to the Financial Times: "The Donald Trump administration is preparing a draft that will allow the United States to mine a batch of metals in the Pacific Ocean floor in an attempt to offset China's dominant position in the mineral supply chain used for batteries and rare metals."
Russian News Agency pointed out: Rich resources containing nickel, cobalt, copper, and manganese are found on the seabed, which are important for battery, wiring, and ammunition production. These layers also contain small amounts of rare earth metals.
Earlier, Newsweek reported that the production of the latest U.S. F-47 fighter jets largely depends on China's rare earth metal supply, which has already been restricted by China.
AP also pointed out that if the United States continues to impose tariff pressure on China, rare metals and others will become even harder to enter the country.
However, according to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which came into effect in 1994, the International Seabed Authority (ISA) under the United Nations is authorized to decide the rules for deep-sea mining in international waters. Although the United States participated in drafting the UNCLOS, it has never officially ratified the convention and is only an observer state of ISA, thus having no voting rights and cannot obtain exploration or mining contracts through this organization.
