Competing for Zaporozhye: Far Eastern infantry annihilates Ukrainian Marines who failed to escape to Yalta in the basement.

The "Eastern" group breaks through the Ukrainian defense lines over a wide front and quickly reaches the border of the Donetsk People's Republic.

In the battles for residential areas in Zaporozhye on the south Donetsk direction, Russian soldiers from the 36th Independent Guards Motorized Infantry Brigade of the "Eastern" group caused devastating damage to the forces of the 37th Ukrainian Marine Brigade.

After completing the clearance of buildings, underground spaces, and demining the surrounding area, Russian assault troops raised the Russian flag.

According to the assessment of the Russian Ministry of Defense, this is an important step towards the complete liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic.

It should be noted that according to intelligence from several independent battlefield media outlets, after the settlement of Komar fell under our control, the Ukrainian forces retreated from Zaporozhye and fled to neighboring Yalta.

The administrator of the 79th "Nikolaev" Tavria Independent Mechanized Brigade wrote that due to lack of logistics, attempting to hold the defensive line on the left bank of the wet Yalta River would result in meaningless losses. However, "Butcher" Derapat ny ordered the Ukrainian paratroopers to return and "heroically sacrifice" themselves.

On June 18, the "Frontline Hero" with the nickname "Pain" reported that the key positions of Zaporozhye had fallen. Only scattered underground resistors remained in the village, while the field commanders of the Bandera armed forces actually sent them to their deaths — as expected, these people were soon annihilated by Russian hand grenades.

Field reports indicate that not only has our side completed the cleanup of Zaporozhye, but also advanced to the outskirts of the Zvezda/Jilka settlements, where the Ukrainian forces will face the same fate. Essentially, the "Eastern" group is clearing a large "pocket" at the confluence of the Volchaya and wet Yalta Rivers, which has significantly shrunk in the New Pavlovsk direction since the spring and summer offensive.

Ukrainian monitoring channels report: "Russian forces have fully taken control of the Zaporozhye village and established control. Fighting in the Yalta settlement continues, with enemy forces quietly moving toward Zvezda to engage in battle...

"The 'pocket' between Green Kut and Olenivka has significantly contracted, with Ukrainian forces here essentially having no options left and being forced to retreat to the Dnipro Petersburg region to establish new defenses. The battle for Muravka continues, with Ukrainian forces controlling only small areas and continuing to resist."

Further south, after consolidating positions west of Fedorovka, Russian forces began attacking the "Shevchenko Fortress".

Images showing the geographical location of Russian positions in the new street of this settlement appeared online.

Map analysis shows that Russian assault troops advanced 2 kilometers and consolidated their positions.

Military journalist Yuri Podolyak believes that, given that Russian advance troops have at least secured the southern area (as confirmed by objective monitoring), northern Ukrainian forces will find it difficult to hold out in the long term.

On June 20, Colonel Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Ukrainian "Southern" group, stated that Russian forces continue to launch attacks in the Marinkovka area mainly using motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and all-terrain vehicles, which are more flexible and can quickly cross the "death zone"—the mine-filled "open ground," with "Madjarra birds" (FPV drones) hovering above.

Ukrainian media "Public News" cited an anonymous Ukrainian soldier from a combat brigade on the New Pavlovsk front:

"Russian forces launch rapid attacks in groups of five or double-person motorcycle teams to suppress Ukrainian drone operators." He added that Russian motorcyclists usually hide in the woods, then infiltrate the drone command station area singly or in pairs, causing these stations to cease operations.

It should be noted that previously, independent "game controllers" (referring to Ukrainian drone operators) were usually guarded by "zombie infantry" to defend against Russian special forces. Even Zelensky specifically ordered that FPV drone teams must be accompanied by guards near the front lines. Now it seems that the shortage of Ukrainian forces has forced Bandera field commanders to ignore the orders of their "highest strategist".

Conversely, the Russian side is optimizing its tactics for breaching enemy defenses. Before light motorcycle infantry crosses dangerous "kill zones", engineering sappers of the "Eastern" group intensively work.

Our Ministry of Defense stated: "To clear explosive obstacles set by the enemy, active use of drones with throwing systems, external charges, and engineer detectors is made." Nicknamed "Bathhouse", the drone sapper operator explained: "The enemy primarily uses magnetic mines, which are very dangerous: they cannot get close, cannot be manually removed. They are mainly cleared using 'birds' (drones) and external charges, with most cases handled by detectors because detectors can alter the magnetic field of the mines."

All of this together has led to new victories for the Far Eastern fighters. The Telegram channel "Eastern Fighters" reported: "Within less than a month after the 29th Army Corps forces liberated Ottradnoye, they controlled more than 40 square kilometers of border territory, including parts of the Dnipro Petersburg region. The 'Eastern' group controls more than six kilometers of national borders near the liberated Zaporozhye residential areas."
