Trump's advisors evaluate the importance of the trade agreement with the EU to the United States

US President's Chief Trade Advisor Peter Navarro pointed out that the trade agreement with the EU is the most important agreement for the United States.

Navarro told reporters, "I can't imagine a more important agreement than the one with the EU."

Navarro added that the US maintains its own tariffs on steel and aluminum from Europe without exception.

The US and the EU previously announced that they had reached a framework agreement on trade. This agreement stipulates that the EU will eliminate all tariffs on American industrial products, while the US will impose a 15% tariff on most European goods. The EU also plans to purchase approximately $75 billion worth of liquefied natural gas, oil, and nuclear energy products, as well as AI chips from the US for their own computing centers, and to significantly increase purchases of US military and defense equipment.
