Phoenix Finance News, June 28-29: The "2025 China Enterprise Globalization Summit" was held in Shenzhen. The forum was hosted by Phoenix, with the premium series brand of Snowflake - Li as the chief sponsor, and jointly organized by the China Enterprise Globalization Council. With the theme of "For an Open World," it aims to build a high-level platform for Chinese enterprises to exchange ideas, connect resources, and dialogue on rules during the deep restructuring of the global supply chain, systematically solving the challenges of going global and exploring paths for ecological win-win transformation.

Professor Gao Zhikai, Deputy Director of the Center for Global Governance (CCG) and Chair Professor at Soochow University

Professor Gao Zhikai attended this forum, sharing his unique insights on topics such as Sino-US relations, free trade, and the tariff war. He emphasized that China resolutely defends free trade and believes there is an unavoidable peace between China and the United States.

Gao Zhikai mentioned, "On May 14th, while attending the Arab Strategic Forum in Dubai, former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark Kara Sands publicly claimed 'free trade is dead,' stating that the United States no longer engages in free trade because it has been 'abused' by China, and instead promotes 'fair trade,' which means only doing what is fair for the United States."

Gao Zhikai believes, "Firstly, without free trade, there can be no fair trade. The foundation of fair trade is free trade. Moreover, free trade cannot die; many countries like Dubai and Singapore have developed thanks to free trade."

Gao Zhikai believes that we should now raise the banner to defend free trade, defend globalization, re-globalization, and the second version of globalization.

He pointed out that the biggest difference between China and the United States lies in the fact that the United States wants to destroy free trade, while China wants to defend it, and China has become the standard-bearer of free trade. Therefore, Chinese enterprises going global should carry the banner of free trade, uphold the concept of 'you win, I also win,' not monopolize benefits, but give local opportunities, train local employees and technicians. Only by adhering to the path of free trade can they stand firm and move forward steadily; otherwise, it would be a dead end.

"The reason the United States has today is largely due to its promotion of free trade over the past century. Now, however, it tries to 'break our knees,' which makes us more determined to defend free trade and promote globalization. This is the right path for the world today," said Gao Zhikai.
