Reference Message Network reported on April 30th according to a report by Reuters on April 29th, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Beason said on April 29th that what America needs is precision manufacturing industry, not necessarily the textile industry.
Beason told reporters at the White House press briefing: "Our goal is to bring high-quality industrial job opportunities back to the United States. President Trump is interested in future job opportunities rather than past ones."
It was also reported that after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Beason said that America does not need the textile industry, the American textile industry organization sent a letter of disappointment to Beason on April 29th.
In the letter, Kimberly Glass, chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Textile Organization Council, expressed: "Our industry was disheartened by your remarks and the emotions you conveyed, especially since President Trump himself has repeatedly pointed out that the textile industry is crucial and strategically significant."
