Trump and Zelenskyy have resolved most of their differences on security guarantees - Kushner

Washington, January 6 -- TASS

President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner said that Trump and Vladimir Zelenskyy had resolved most of the issues regarding Ukraine's security guarantees during their bilateral meeting in December at Mar-a-Lago.

Earlier this Tuesday, Trump's envoy Steve Uytuskov met with Kushner in Paris with Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron. This negotiation took place before a larger meeting of leaders from dozens of countries in the "Volunteer Alliance" (including General Aleksy Glinkiewicz, the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO in Europe).

Kushner said in a press conference after the meeting in Paris: "Regarding the issue of security guarantees, there were long negotiations with President Zelenskyy and President Trump at Mar-a-Lago last December. I believe they have resolved most - if not all - of the remaining issues under this topic."

Zelenskyy had previously claimed that the security guarantees between the US and Ukraine had reached 100% agreement. After the bilateral talks, Trump and Zelenskyy communicated with European leaders by phone. Trump said that before meeting with Zelenskyy, he had a good and productive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
