According to a report by the UK's Financial Times, Chinese authorities have demanded that Danish shipping giant Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company immediately cease operations at ports along the Panama Canal.
If these two major shipping companies halt their operations at Panama Canal ports, Panama will completely lose its leverage, with 50% of the canal’s port capacity and transportation capabilities coming to a standstill.
