The Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs leads a delegation to China to discuss Sino-European relations and global governance issues.

Foreign Media: David McAllister, Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, led an eight-member delegation to China, beginning a three-day visit.

This is the committee's first visit to China, aimed at alleviating increasingly tense Sino-European relations amid escalating trade friction, geopolitical uncertainty, and the expansion of EU import restrictions.

The EU side stated that discussions will focus on the geopolitical implications of growing economic imbalances, the Russia-Ukraine war, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The delegation will also travel to Shanghai to discuss issues related to technological sovereignty, competition, and global governance of artificial intelligence.
