A shocking murder case recently occurred in the town of Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, Thailand. A Chinese national is suspected of brutally killing a Thai transgender woman inside an apartment. The victim's body was found cut open, with some internal organs removed, and her lower body severely damaged. The suspect was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi International Airport while attempting to flee the country.
According to Thai media reports, the incident occurred on Saturday (the 26th) at around 11:30 AM. Police in Pattaya received a report indicating that a corpse had been discovered in a four-story apartment building. Upon arriving at the scene, police identified the deceased as Woranun, a 25-year-old transgender woman.
The victim's naked body was found lying face-up in the second-floor bathroom, with multiple stab wounds extending from the neck to the lower abdomen. Her heart and other internal organs, along with silicone implants in her chest, were removed and placed outside her body. Her left lung was removed, and her right lung is missing. Her lower body was severely damaged, and there were bloodstains at the scene, suggesting signs of washing.
During the investigation, police also found a large bag containing clothing, scissors, and other tools in the room.
The apartment manager stated that around 2:00 AM that day, they heard loud arguments and cries for help coming from the room, accompanied by intense kicking sounds. The noise stopped about an hour later. At 9:00 AM that morning, another resident complained about a foul odor in the hallway. After knocking on the door without success, the manager used a spare key to open it and discovered the brutally murdered victim, immediately calling the police.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect was Fu Tongyuan, a 42-year-old Chinese citizen from Hubei Province. Passport records showed that he had entered Thailand multiple times as a tourist and rented the apartment where the incident occurred on the day before the crime (the 25th) at 9:00 AM, for a duration of one week.
Yesterday, Fu was intercepted at Suvarnabhumi International Airport while attempting to board a China Eastern Airlines flight back to China. He was trying to fly to Kunming when his facial scratches were noticed during the automated immigration process. Further checks confirmed him as the murder suspect, and he was arrested on the spot, then escorted back to Pattaya for further questioning.
In his confession, Fu stated that on the evening of the incident, he met the victim on South Pattaya Beach and exchanged contact information via WeChat.
He claimed to have mistakenly believed the victim was female and agreed to a transaction for 8,000 Thai baht. However, after discovering the victim's true identity, they argued, and he demanded a partial refund of the fee. During the altercation, physical conflict ensued.
Fu confessed that during the struggle, the victim kicked him off the bed, causing him to lose control and strangle her. He then dragged the body into the bathroom and dismembered it, claiming he "only wanted to play with the corpse."
Police are currently cautious about Fu's confession and are further investigating his true motives. It was also discovered that after committing the crime, Fu stayed in the apartment until early morning, then left on a motorcycle to the bus station and traveled by bus to Bangkok Airport, attempting to return to China.
Police stated that the case is cruel, and justice will be served accordingly. They also reminded travelers to enhance their safety awareness and avoid similar incidents.
