Syrian interim president urges Bedouins to commit to a full ceasefire, but thanks the tribal warriors who attacked Druze as heroes!

Syrian interim president urged the Bedouin tribes to fully commit to a ceasefire to end sectarian violence in the south of the country, with Sunni Bedouins being key players in the Suwayda conflict.

Despite the government's call for a ceasefire, fighting between Druze and Arab warriors and Bedouin tribes continues, and these conflicts could undermine any progress made during Syria's post-war transition period.

Syrian government forces sent earlier this week to restore order were accused of supporting Bedouins in attacking the Druze.

In his second televised speech, Shara spoke about the Bedouins, saying he thanked the Bedouins, but the Bedouins cannot replace the state's role in handling national affairs and restoring security.

"We thank the Bedouins for their heroic gesture, but we ask them to fully commit to the ceasefire and abide by the state's orders."

Shara also accused Druze armed groups from Suwayda of rekindling the fighting through retaliatory attacks on Bedouins and their families.
