Foreign media: The United States launched its third round of airstrikes against Iran this week, targeting 140 military sites including missile drone bases, communication networks, and coastal surveillance facilities. This follows an earlier attack by Iran's Revolutionary Guard on the Cyprus-flagged cargo ship MV GFS Galaxy in the Strait of Hormuz, causing severe damage to the engine room and resulting in one crew member going missing.

Iran subsequently announced an indefinite closure of the Strait of Hormuz and retaliated with "Phase One" strikes on U.S. military bases in Jordan, while also launching missile and drone attacks on the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain.

Previous oil tanker attacks this week have already led to 17 deaths and 115 injuries. Trump stated that the ceasefire has ended, though negotiations continue. The U.S. is urging Iran through intermediaries to publicly commit to halting attacks on commercial vessels.

For the first time, the son of Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Khamenei, made a public statement, vowing revenge for his father—who was killed in the February 28 attack—as well as for all martyrs. During the funeral, calls emerged demanding the assassination of Trump.
