America offers $10 million reward for information on 10 individuals, including Iran's Supreme Leader

On March 13, the U.S. Department of State's "Rewards for Justice program" announced a $10 million reward to gather information on several high-ranking officials, including Iran's new Supreme Leader Morteza Hameneh.

The U.S. Department of State released a statement saying: "[Rewards for Justice] currently offers a maximum reward of $10 million for information regarding senior leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its affiliated branches. These individuals command and lead various departments of the IRGC, an organization that plans, organizes, and carries out terrorist activities worldwide."

On April 15, 2019, the U.S. Department of State designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (including the Quds Force of the IRGC) as a "foreign terrorist organization." In 2017, the U.S. Treasury Department listed it as a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" due to its support for the activities of the Quds Force.

The current reward targets 10 individuals, including Iran's new Supreme Leader Morteza Hameneh, as well as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Supreme Leader's Office Ali Asghar Hejazi, military advisor Yahya Rahim Safavi, Major General Eskandar Momeni, the Minister of Interior, and Esmail Khatib, the Minister of Intelligence and Security, among others.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched multiple attacks on targets inside Iran, including an attack on Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Supreme Leader Khamenei was also attacked in the incident and died, leading Iran to announce a 40-day national mourning period. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile strikes against Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.

The Iranian Assembly of Experts issued a statement on the 8th, announcing that Morteza Hameneh was elected as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran with an overwhelming majority of votes. Morteza is currently 56 years old and is the second son of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
