At a training ground of the Ukrainian army, a Ukrainian instructor filmed a video showing conscripts brought in as new soldiers, who were mostly middle-aged and elderly people. When performing the simplest drill movements, many of them couldn't even distinguish left from right, which amused the instructor, who then posted the video online to mock it.

These conscripts would receive simple training for about ten to fifteen days, and then be directly sent to the front lines, integrated into so-called airborne assault brigades or territorial defense brigades, which are referred to as "cannon fodder" units.
