Foreign Media: The U.S. Suspends Nuclear Equipment Export to Chinese Nuclear Power Plants, Involving Hundreds of Millions of Dollars Business

Foreign media reported that the US has recently suspended export licenses for nuclear equipment suppliers to sell to China's nuclear power plants, involving companies such as Westinghouse and Emerson, affecting business worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

The involvement of companies like Westinghouse and Emerson could impact amounts reaching hundreds of millions of dollars. Besides nuclear equipment, the US has also implemented new restrictions on exports to China in multiple fields within the past two weeks, including engines for GE Aviation and permits required for enterprises selling ethane to China.

Previously, the US and China had reached a 90-day tariff easing agreement on May 12 in Geneva, but subsequently fell into disputes over rare earth exports and Huawei AI chip issues. China stated it is seriously fulfilling the agreement and called for the US to revoke the restrictive measures. Both parties will hold further consultations on June 9.
