Major General Yerusalyimov of the Russian military reportedly died in an accident
In the assassination attempt on August 1 against Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Chayko, Major General Yerusalyimov is suspected to have become an unintended casualty. On August 1, an explosion occurred at a high-end Italian restaurant in central Moscow, where a private birthday party was being held behind closed doors—the guest of honor being Chayko. The attacker approached under the guise of delivering a gift, carrying a homemade bomb containing 1 kilogram of TNT and steel pellets. The device was remotely detonated when intercepted by security personnel, resulting in three immediate deaths and 21 injuries, with the death toll later rising to five. Chayko himself remained unharmed as he was inside the restaurant, but his 25-year-old daughter Maria Chayko suffered severe traumatic brain injury, and her husband Daniel Perezhdy, a former professional ice hockey player, was killed.
