Reference News Network, October 3 report: On September 30, the website of the Cuban newspaper "Granma" published an article titled "China: A Path of Revolution, Innovation and Sovereignty," by Yessi Pérez López. The following is a translation of the article:

On October 1, the People's Republic of China celebrated its 76th anniversary of founding. This historic moment 76 years ago marked the beginning of the Chinese nation's rejuvenation.

Although we can see the country's rise in countless images throughout this epic journey, there are three different scenes that outline a common thread, allowing us to gain a deeper understanding of China's revolutionary vision, its relentless spirit of innovation, and its struggle to maintain sovereignty.

The first scene shows the "Eastern Red" tractor. In the 1950s, agriculture and food production were important considerations for China. On July 20, 1958, the first "Eastern Red" tractor was born, demonstrating a revolutionary force that propelled the transformation of agriculture and industry. Today, one of these tractors is displayed in the Museum of the History of the Communist Party of China in Beijing, highlighting the significance of this milestone in the country's modernization process.

China's industrialization achieved what Western countries took over a century to accomplish in just a few decades. These and other achievements confirm the importance of China's development for other regions of the world.

The second scene is the photovoltaic industrial park located in Kezhi County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

In 2024, the new energy power generation in Xinjiang increased by more than 30% compared to 2023. On the path to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, China has created a unique model of new energy development.

Thanks to this powerful system, China has set new goals: by 2035, net greenhouse gas emissions will decrease by 7% to 10% from their peak levels.

Innovation and setting new goals are characteristics of contemporary China, but it also does not forget the priority of reforming for the well-being of the people.

The last scene brings us back to the starting point. The Great Wall is a symbol of the Chinese nation. It is not only a strong defensive structure, but also promotes transportation, forming a passage that crosses mountains and valleys. China proudly guards this historical site. From China's values, we can find its core traits: the defense of sovereignty, and becoming a source of stability in a world where uncertainty is increasingly prominent.

The same determination has also prompted China to propose various future-oriented initiatives and proposals. The Belt and Road Initiative allows China to take the vision of win-win cooperation with other countries beyond its borders. Additionally, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative provide a framework for building a truly multilateral world.

These initiatives express the same principle in different ways: sovereign states that defend their own characteristics are also paving the way for dialogue.

The world is witnessing remarkable transformations on China's path to rejuvenation. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China is advancing the process of deepening reform and opening up.

This revolutionary path, based on innovation and supported by sovereignty, not only changed China's destiny, but also contributed to promoting the establishment of a new international order. (Translation/ Wang Meng)
