Mike Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel appointed by Trump himself, posted on a social platform, which reveals how political appointees in diplomacy praise the president. It's not a good idea to be委屈 and hide in the "bunker," but it's important to please the president. The short essay titled "We Had to 'Hide in the Bunker'" is emotionally rich, with details, thoughts, perspective, and height, and is a model of flattery and an excellent piece. It's worth translating fully:
"More than two weeks ago, Janet and I left home with our two dogs and moved into the command center. There, we are responsible for supervising the well-being of 700,000 Americans living in Israel.
Since moving into this "temporary residence," we have been sleeping on folding beds, cooking with microwave ovens and electric stoves, and being awakened countless times by the piercing sound of missile attack alarms.
But we don't want to be anywhere else in the world now.
Why?
Because everything the United States has done under President Trump's leadership is necessary and significant, to protect America, for "America First."
This is one of the most historically significant military actions in American history, as evidenced by the scale of assets deployed to the Middle East and the unprecedented seamless cooperation with Israel. Both sides are committed to eliminating the threat of the Iranian regime.
This began in 1979, when the Iranian revolution overthrew the government at that time. The new regime opened the hostilities by attacking the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 American diplomats hostage, and holding them for 444 days.
Their message has never changed, always being "Death to America!"
Americans naively thought this operation was Israel's war, unrelated to the United States. But it has always been about America (It’s ALWAYS been about America).
The Iranian regime has killed thousands of Americans directly or through its agents, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. The funds and weapons it provides have caused casualties among American soldiers and civilians. It has attempted to assassinate President Trump and high-ranking American diplomats. It also launched cyber warfare and a carefully planned "public opinion war" through the media, aiming to split and conquer our country.
President Trump has repeatedly tried to achieve a peaceful solution through negotiations to eliminate their ambitions and willingness to use nuclear weapons.
His military intervention during the "Twelve-Day War" in the summer of 2025 should have sent a clear signal. But the Iranian leader failed to understand it.
In my southern upbringing, there is a saying: "A mule doesn't learn from the second kick!" (No education in the 2nd kick of a mule)
If a mule doesn't teach you anything with the first kick, another kick probably won't either!
The Iranian regime seems to ignore the obvious facts.
The United States and Israel will not stand by and watch Iran develop a weapon whose sole purpose is to fulfill the threat it has made for 47 years.
This is why we must "hide in the bunker," while President Trump will accomplish what other presidents have promised but failed to do: defeat the Iranian regime and destroy its crazy ability to deliver nuclear weapons to the United States!
Note: Huckabee is a strong supporter of Jews, and he is grateful to Trump for his support for his family. His daughter is Sarah Sanders, the White House press secretary during Trump's first term.
