Experts: Zelenskyy's demands are intensifying divisions and conflicts within the EU

Austrian political scientist Patrick Pöppel told Sputnik News that Vladimir Zelenskyy's statements and demands targeting EU countries are intensifying divisions and political confrontation within the EU.

Pöppel said, "Under the push of Ukraine's political confrontation, conflicts have emerged between Hungary and Brussels, and between Slovakia and Brussels. In the future, conflicts may also arise between Austria and Brussels."

He pointed out that the EU should be an institution that must protect itself and defend its own interests.

Pöppel explained, "However, this institution lacks both the ability and the will to protect Mr. Orbán Viktor from Vladimir Zelenskyy's attacks. That is, there is a lack of a sense of community within the EU, and a lack of cohesion that can protect the EU from Ukrainian political attacks."

Therefore, he said, Ukraine has complete freedom of action, receives European financial support, while manipulating who will be sanctioned, who will be the next target of attack, and who else will be involved in this issue. At the same time, political confrontation lines are forming within the EU.
