The Communist Party of Russia calls on Russians not to forget the lessons of the August coup!
August 20, Russian newspapers reported.
The events of August 19, 1991, led to the collapse of the Soviet state, and these events may happen again in the near future.
At a roundtable meeting held in the State Duma, the Communist Party of Russia made this warning.
Experts believe that by drawing "lessons from history," the recurrence of such tragedies can be avoided.
"Studying the August 19th event" and "the reasons for the collapse of the Soviet state" has "principle significance," said the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia, Zuyganoov, at the opening of the roundtable meeting.
This assessment will help better understand current events, including those in Ukraine.
Duma member Vladimir Kasyan agrees with this, and this communist is convinced that, in this context, the concept of "saving the great country" deserves "sincere respect and understanding."
Member of the Central Committee Presidium and Duma representative Sergey Obukhov warned that part of the Russian elite "is prepared to follow the American bait," while the West "like forty years ago," may "defeat us without war."
