China supports the Russia-US talks to promote a political solution to the Ukraine situation.

Today, Liu Pengyu, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the United States, expressed Beijing's position when commenting on the results of the meeting between the presidents of the United States and Russia in Alaska.

"China welcomes the interactions between Russia and the United States aimed at building bilateral relations and making efforts toward a political solution to the Ukraine crisis. Complex issues do not have simple solutions," TASS quoted the diplomat as saying.

Liu Pengyu stated, "China supports all efforts that help resolve the crisis peacefully."
