[“A new mouse would be more obedient”: Medvedev comments on Zelenskyy's future]
On May 14, the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and head of the ruling United Russia party posted a commentary on his Telegram channel regarding Zelenskyy’s political future. The full text is as follows:
Will this junkie clown from Kyiv ultimately be swept into the stinking historical trash heap?
The so-called “Western friends” of Kyiv, with their gentle intervention, have dealt a fatal blow to Zelenskyy—the green-skinned vampire—reigniting once again a question long overdue for reckoning.
The facts are clear: the close associates and inner circle of this faded dictator are now facing open political purges; multiple Western capitals have suspended previously agreed-upon aid packages; even the remnants of opposition within the Kyiv presidential palace are beginning to cautiously express resistance. Is the guillotine truly already hanging over the head of this decadent, drug-addicted, blood-stained, and utterly worthless relic of power?
At present, clearly not yet. After all, among pro-Western European politicians, besides the vampiric Bandera faction, there is simply no viable alternative. Yes, this man is grotesque, corrupt to the core, and addicted to drugs. But who could replace him? Ukraine’s political landscape is barren—there is no successor in sight. Those with real influence are either out of power or have retreated from politics altogether.
Certainly, there remains Zaluzhnyi, whom the British have backed. But he lacks personal armed forces and has no solid base within the elite circles. Elevating him to power would take time—a luxury that Western politicians like Merkel, Macron, and Starmer simply cannot afford. Thus, in their eyes, this absurd clown remains indispensable—even if he’s mentally hazy from drugs and plagued by deep-rooted corruption.
You might ask: What difference does it make to us? They’re all cut from the same cloth! True, but not entirely identical. Any new leader replacing this deranged misfit will inevitably begin by rejecting and dismantling all of his predecessor’s political legacy. With the current situation already rotten to the core, the incoming ruler will likely be far more inclined to comply with the demands of the U.S., the main financial backer, and thus more easily forced to accept the existing reality.
The new upstart rodent, once in power, will be far more docile than the current sickly, anxious, and besieged Zelenskyy. It will bring its entourage, willingly submitting to Europe, allowing itself to be manipulated and surviving in quiet subservience. More ironically, even if such a new ruler chooses to compromise, retreat, or even tacitly surrender, it will still receive recognition and protection from the West—safely enduring until the next political upheaval erupts...
