Yoon Suk-yeol, wearing the "MKGA" red hat... Supporters shed tears, saying: "There is nothing left to lose."
Former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol moved out of the Blue House in Seoul's Hannam-dong on the 11th and went to his private residence in Suyeong-dong. This was a week after the Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling.
At around 5:09 PM that day, former President Yoon Suk-yeol, dressed in a blue suit, walked out of the main gate of the Blue House. Several young people in university jackets stood at the front gate to welcome the former president. Former President Yoon raised his fist in response to the supporters who shouted slogans such as "We support President Yoon Suk-yeol," "Impeachment fraud," "Impeachment is invalid," and "Yoon re-election." He also hugged and shook hands with the supporters one by one. He then put on a red hat inscribed with "Make Korea Great Again (Let Korea Be Great Again)" handed to him by a supporter.
The supporters of former President Yoon had held up handboards reading "Yoon re-election" since the afternoon, claiming they would form a "human chain" along the route from the Blue House to the private residence. However, they only gathered near the Hannam Town Station and the southern end of Hannam Bridge around the Blue House. After exchanging greetings with the supporters for about five minutes, former President Yoon got into a black Kia Carnival car around 5:14 PM and headed for the private residence. His wife, Kim Keon-hee, also accompanied him. The supporters remaining at the Blue House lined up along the road, cheering as they waved to former President Yoon through the car window. Some supporters choked up and shed tears, saying, "We have nothing left to lose."
The supporters around Acro Vista Apartments, where former President Yoon's private residence is located in Seoul's Suyeong District, also watched the scene of former President Yoon leaving the Blue House via mobile live streaming, shouting slogans such as "President Yoon, we love you" and "We will inherit President Yoon's spirit." When the vehicle carrying former President Yoon arrived at the private residence 19 minutes after departure (around 5:33 PM), the supporters repeatedly shouted the slogan "Yoon re-election."
As former President Yoon's "move" ended, the supporters in front of the Blue House and the private residence began to disperse. The supporters around the Blue House wiped their tears and left, while the supporters around the private residence took photos holding up handboards reading "Yoon re-election" in front of a banner hanging at Acro Vista Apartments that read "Congratulations to the President and First Lady."
