On April 21, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jia Kun, presided over the regular press conference.

The Korea News Agency asked: The latest satellite images show that China has built a large drilling platform in the waters where China and South Korea have provisional measures, which has caused concern for the South Korean government. What is the Chinese side's evaluation of this and what is its position?

"My colleague has made our position clear on this matter," Guo Jia Kun reiterated. Both China and South Korea have overlapping maritime claims, and both sides are advancing maritime delimitation negotiations. Meanwhile, according to the China-South Korea Fisheries Agreement, both countries are actively cooperating in the provisional measures waters.

Guo Jia Kun stated that the fishery farming facilities established by Chinese enterprises in the aforementioned provisional waters do not violate relevant agreements between China and South Korea. Through channels such as the marine affairs dialogue cooperation mechanism, the Chinese side has informed the South Korean side of the situation and maintained communication. We hope that the South Korean side can view this objectively and rationally.
