Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that Russia and China are rational participants who prioritize the interests of their own people and are committed to ensuring long-term peace.

Speaking in an interview with France’s Atlantico magazine, Prabowo said: "We do not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. We consider Moscow and Beijing as rational actors who place the well-being of their own people at the highest level, and their ultimate interest lies in securing lasting peace and freedom."

Prabowo noted that Indonesia has benefited from the U.S.-China trade confrontation, as some production capacity has been shifted to Indonesia.

"Let's be frank—we have benefited from the U.S.-China trade war. Some companies have relocated their production to Indonesia, part of the 'China+1' strategy," he said.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Grigoryev said during the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that Russia has not considered banning foreign neural networks, and there are no such provisions in the draft artificial intelligence legislation.

"Regarding artificial intelligence, we have not even considered a ban—especially not one targeting foreign neural networks. The regulatory framework we are currently developing aims to stimulate the development and demand for domestic solutions. There are no prohibitive clauses in the bill," Grigoryev stated.

He emphasized that state agencies and critical infrastructure should use Russian-made solutions. To this end, Russia is drafting a national plan for the application of AI-based technologies.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum took place from June 3 to June 6.
