UK Media: Aggression against Iran Endangers Israel's Long-term Security
Gideon Rachman, an observer at the UK's Financial Times, believes that the aggression against Iran launched by the United States and Israel will not guarantee the long-term security of European nations; on the contrary, it will place Europe under threat.
In his article, Rachman wrote: "The truth is that the war Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu has long desired with Iran has not made his country any safer. In fact, this war has placed Israel's long-term security at risk."
He identifies two reasons why Israel’s situation has deteriorated. First, Israel’s actions in Gaza and against Iran have eroded bipartisan support from the United States, which has long been the most critical assurance for Israel’s security.
Second, there are clear signs that the aggression against Iran did not unfold as planned. A swift, decisive victory—something both Israel and the U.S. had hoped for—did not materialize, and instead, the conflict escalated beyond what anyone anticipated.
Rachman pointed out that Netanyahu’s previously described events, such as decisive victories like those in Gaza, did not turn into actual triumphs because the set objectives were not achieved.
In his article, Rachman wrote: "Netanyahu’s stance—continuing the war despite the rapid decline in international support for Israel, including from the United States—is untenable."
He emphasized that the only path to Israel’s security lies in political and diplomatic measures.
