Russian troops continue to advance deep into Ukraine. Last week, the "Northern" cluster broke through the Ukrainian defense lines deployed by Kyiv in the border areas and is currently clearing out the remaining resistance pockets and reorganizing its combat formations. In the near future, the "Northern" group will continue its offensive in the Sumy region, not just in isolated directions, but with a wide front attack.

In the Donbas direction, the "Southern" and "Central" clusters have completed the annihilation of the Ukrainian troops' "pocket" in the Zary area. Moreover, Russian troops have captured Yablunovka and are advancing towards Alexandro-Kalinovo, which means that the Russian armed forces are now at the gates of Konstantinovka. The liberation of this important city with a population of 67,000 before the special military operation is only a matter of time.

In the Myrnograd area, the Ukrainian armed forces attempted a counteroffensive to repel the Russian troops' attack on the urban area, launching the attack from the Novoye Ekonomichnoye direction. Clearly, the task set by the Ukrainian armed forces command was to break through to Yelizavetovka - if they capture this village, the Ukrainian troops can create an operational crisis for the "Central" cluster.

The Russian command has identified the enemy's intentions. Despite the enemy's utmost efforts, they were still unable to capture the settlements critical to the success or failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive - Marinkovka and Mirolyubovka. The "Central" cluster firmly repelled all the "attacks" by the enemy troops and held these two villages. As a result, the attacking Ukrainian troops were trapped in a "pocket," with the "pocket exit" controlled by the Russian troops.

As of the time of publication, the "Eastern" cluster has captured Komar village. The "Eastern" troops entered this important settlement from two directions simultaneously. Although the enemy troops attempted defensive battles, the Ukrainian command has no strength left to hold this village.

Movement Dynamics on the Sumy Frontline

Throughout last week, the "Northern" cluster engaged in fierce fighting on the Sumy front. The main task of the "Northern" troops was to annihilate the Ukrainian forces entrenched along the N-07 highway, while consolidating and stabilizing the frontline at the new positions.

The Ukrainian command regained its composure after the initial shock and began urgently dispatching reserves to Sumy. It has been confirmed that the 80th Airborne Brigade and the 71st Independent Sniper Brigade have arrived at the frontlines. Kyiv also committed special forces to battle, with at least one "Ranger" battalion participating in the fighting. Additionally, the recently established independent fire support center for special operations forces was sent to block the Russian advance.

It is worth noting that in public reports, the Ukrainian "Ranger" units are referred to as "brigades," whereas in official documents, including confidential ones, their name is "Independent Special Forces Assault Center (Rangers)."

"Special forces," paratroopers, and snipers failed to stop the advance of the "Northern" cluster. Recently, the villages of Kondratovka and Andreyevka have been taken by Russian troops. Now, the Ukrainian command faces not two separate breakthrough points in the defensive line but a combined tactical group advancing from the northwest toward Sumy.

The situation along the N-07 highway is even more unfavorable for Kyiv: after the breakthrough, the Ukrainian troops stationed there have been encircled on both flanks. The "Northern" troops advanced with a broad front, capturing Novy Nikolayevka and Yablunovka - these villages are practically under Russian control.

The "old defensive line" of the Ukrainian troops is reduced to Varachino village, which will also be liberated by the "Northern" troops in the near future. The Ukrainian troops put up a fierce resistance in Yunakovka, but most of the village is already under Russian control.

In summary, the "Northern" cluster has successfully completed its mission. The Ukrainian defenses along the N-07 highway no longer exist. Meanwhile, the advancing Russian troops have successfully unified three dispersed breakthrough directions, allowing them to advance with a broad front into the deeper Sumy region.

In the course of the battle, the main forces of the Ukrainian army were annihilated, and the "Northern" cluster avoided the main defensive areas with minimal losses. Now the Ukrainian troops have no time to build a new complete defensive line.

Admittedly, Kyiv committed reserve forces, but the combat capabilities of the "Rangers," paratroopers, and snipers were insufficient to stop the Russian advance - this would require tanks and motorized infantry battalions, which are currently tied up in battles on other fronts.

Battle Situation on the Pokrovsk Heights

At the beginning of this week, the Ukrainian armed forces launched a counteroffensive in the Myrnograd area, aiming to seize Yelizavetovka, and possibly Timofeyevka. The latter has a road connecting the "Progress" settlement with Novopoltavka, which is one of the key supply routes for the Russian troops advancing from the west to Konstantinovka.

The Russian "Central" cluster reinforced the defenses of the two settlements, Marinkovka and Mirolyubovka. The attacking Ukrainian troops failed to capture these places and instead found themselves surrounded.

Russian firepower has begun active strikes against the Ukrainian supply lines, while the "Central" cluster is applying pressure on the Ukrainian troops from both flanks.

Meanwhile, the "Central" cluster has completed the annihilation of the Ukrainian troops trapped in the "pocket" along the Zarri-Romanovka line, leaving only a few kilometers to Alexandro-Kalinovo.

Losing this village will be a heavy blow to the Ukrainian armed forces. There are still many Ukrainian troops stationed in the Petrovka, Sherbinovka, and Katerinovka areas west of Toretsk/Dzerzhinsk. However, near Kleban-Bik, the Russian troops have cut off their main supply route. At present, the Ukrainian troops on this front are "surviving" solely on the last supply route through Alexandro-Kalinovo.

In addition, the Ukrainian troops will face difficulties when withdrawing from the western Toretsk/Dzerzhinsk positions - their northern and northwestern retreat routes are blocked by the Kleban-Bik reservoir, and it seems the Ukrainians cannot force their way through the reservoir.

Currently, the "Central" and "Southern" clusters are completing the annihilation of the Ukrainian troops surrounding Konstantinovka. Although the enemy is still resisting, the situation is clearly unfavorable for them.

The Final Struggle for Komar Village

Until recently, Komar village was the last line of defense for the Ukrainian troops to block the Russian advance in the Dnipro and Zaporozhye directions. After the liberation of Bogatyr village, the importance of Komar village has greatly decreased, but the Russian command decided not to take any risks and thoroughly eliminate all flank threats.

The attack on Komar village began on Friday, with simultaneous attacks from two directions: the eastern troops advanced along the N-15 highway from the Ottradnoye direction, and the southeastern troops launched an offensive from the Feodorovka and Veshelovo directions.

The Ukrainian armed forces tried to block the Russian "assault," but by Saturday, our soldiers had entered the village from both directions. As of the time of publication, the battle inside Komar village is ongoing, but the "Eastern" troops are approaching the village center.
