China's Kazakhstan-Russia oil pipeline increases Russia's oil transit to China, with Kazakhstan earning significant transit fees

Kazakh International News Agency - On the 31st, Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Yerlan Akkengenov stated at a press conference that the issue of increasing the transportation of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to China is being considered.

The Kazakhstan Energy Minister said that Rosneft Transport (Transneft) has proposed increasing the supply of oil to China to 2.5 million tons per year. Currently, a technical capacity analysis is being conducted on this.

"Rosneft Transport and our national operator Kazakhstan Oil Transport (KazTransOil) are conducting a technical feasibility study on this oil pipeline. These works will be completed soon, and it will then be clear whether new pumping stations need to be built," he said.

According to preliminary information, special additives are currently being considered to increase the transport volume. The final decision will be based on the results of a comprehensive technical evaluation.
