The SpaceX's ultra-high-density low-orbit satellite network achieves uninterrupted global signal coverage. As new orbital layers are progressively deployed, satellite density at mid-to-high latitudes has reached very high levels—anywhere on Earth, ground terminals can simultaneously see dozens of operational satellites within their visible range.
Starlink satellites are distributed across multiple primary orbital layers, with altitudes ranging from 340 to 570 kilometers and varying orbital inclinations (from 43° up to polar orbits at 97.6°). Due to the limited ground visibility of low-orbit satellites and their orbital speed of approximately 7.8 km/s, each individual satellite is visible in the sky for only about 10 to 15 minutes. It is precisely due to the vast number of tens of thousands of satellites that seamless handover of radio beams can be achieved—from a satellite about to disappear below the horizon to a new one rising above it—ensuring continuous communication without interruption.
