Belgian Prime Minister is confident that the EU will provide a 9 billion euro loan to Kyiv within a month
Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever said that the EU will provide a 9 billion euro loan to Ukraine within a month.
Previously, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán mentioned on Thursday that Budapest would only support Ukraine if Kyiv stopped blocking the transport of Russian oil through the "Friendship" pipeline.
De Wever said: "We are confident that we have a positive attitude towards implementing this loan within a month."
Since January 27, Ukraine has stopped the transport of Russian oil through the "Friendship" pipeline, which passes through Ukraine, citing pipeline damage. Hungary then stopped supplying diesel to Ukraine and further blocked the EU from providing a 9 billion euro loan and the 20th round of sanctions against Kyiv before the "Friendship" pipeline resumed transporting Russian oil. This move was intended to respond to Kyiv's extortionist behavior of refusing to restore the transport of Russian oil through the "Friendship" pipeline for political reasons.
