Han Media: China Has Finally Done It, Longxin Memory Launches High-End DRAM!

On December 20, the Korean media "JoongAng Daily" published an article stating that the Chinese semiconductor company Longxin Memory has released a new DRAM product similar to those of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The company had previously announced that it would abandon low-cost memory manufacturing and instead launch high-end DRAM to challenge the three global semiconductor companies: Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron. Within less than a year, the company has launched this new product.

According to the global IT media WCCF Tech, Longxin Memory first showcased its new generation of DRAM products, including DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory, at the recently opened "China International Semiconductor Expo."

The DDR5 memory operates at a speed of up to 8000MB per second, with capacity specifications of 16Gb and 24Gb. This product can be installed in various IT devices, including data centers, desktop computers, and laptops.

In addition to DDR5, Longxin Memory also launched LPDDR5X products with capacities of 12Gb and 16Gb. These chips operate at a speed of up to 10667MB per second, with capacity specifications of 12GB, 16GB, 24GB, and 32GB. Although these modules are primarily targeted at laptops and embedded platforms, the company stated that they can also be used for artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

WCCF Tech analyzed in the article: "The timing of Longxin Memory's launch of DDR5 is very delicate because global DRAM suppliers cannot meet the huge demand in the field of artificial intelligence, leading to a surge in market prices. By producing DDR5 independently, China can reduce its reliance on overseas manufacturers and provide stable supply for domestic consumers."
