Hayashio Sanae: Official website column deleted due to "long-term failure to update"
On the 24th, Hayashio Sanae explained at the Japanese House of Representatives plenary session regarding the deletion of a column on her official website (HP) that outlined her political beliefs and personal views, stating, "After becoming Prime Minister, I didn't have time to write the column, and I've been unable to update it for a long time, so I deleted the column section."
Shindo Reform United representative Ogawa Atsushi also questioned the reason during a representative inquiry, pointing out, "Past statements are important materials for examining a politician's consistency and responsibility."
In response, Hayashio Sanae cited the long-term failure to update the column as the reason for its deletion, and added, "To make the website more concise, I also deleted other content besides the column, in order to make it easier to read."
Hayashio Sanae had previously answered questions about the column at the November 2023 Upper House Budget Committee, stating, "I want everyone to see my journey and growth as a politician, so I have always kept all the content, even those that have been withdrawn."
