Indian police confirmed that a 17-year-old girl in Tripura state was taken away and raped by two men on the 29th when she went out to buy something in the Khowai district.
Indian television reported on the 29th that the two suspects caught her on the way to the grocery store and dragged her into a car.
The police said that they kidnapped her to a secluded place when she passed through a dark alley.

The girl was eventually rescued because she shouted for help, which alarmed the nearby residents. When the suspects heard someone approaching, they immediately fled the scene.
It is reported that one of the suspects, Antar Mia, has been arrested. The other suspect, Shilam Mia, is still at large. Local police are currently pursuing him and have launched a search operation.
